I have also held retreats in beautiful places, including France, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Bali, Ecuador and Mexico! My latest effort has been starting an “Online Yoga School”! I have taped and uploaded many hours worth of yoga videos to this “membership site”. The videos vary in length and address different levels of ability. They include breathwork and meditation. Lots of heart and soul has gone into creating this site. I am happy to offer a “sliding scale” option for payment because I want my school to be accessible to everyone. For an overview of what and how I teach and pricing, please click on this LINK. My strength as a yoga teacher is my ability to weave in many alignment cues and modifications as I teach. Helping people both with or without body challenges get on the mat and enjoy what they can do with their bodies. Thus, making yoga doable and enjoyable to all. What is your WHY?I have been passionate about yoga for over 40 years! Yoga has helped me settle my nerves and greatly lessened anxiety and fear. I wanted to share this wonderful practice with the whole world! So, in 2002, I became a yoga teacher. How do you nourish your body?I make sure to keep up my yoga, pranayama and meditation practice because…I need it! Plus, if you are going to teach yoga, you must do the practice regularly. I teach from my years of personal experience.I go for a brisk, uphill walk every day.I have a very “clean” diet. For almost 30 years, I have been grain-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free due to food sensitivities. This change to my diet turned my health around! People ask me what I eat because I have so many restrictions. I can assure you I eat lots of delicious, nutritious food! Veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds with small portions of wild fish or organic meat make for an endless variety of meals.Favourite hOMe Grown products? When I first made these significant changes to my diet (30 years ago), there was no support for this type of eating. If hOMe Grown had been available then, it would have made life so much easier.I was delighted to find hOMe Grown Living Foods at my local THRIFTY FOODS PUMPKIN SPICE COOKIESSUNFLOWER DILL RAWglesKETO UBAKE SAVOURY CRACKERS……I LOVE THEM ALL!!*Side note – Over a 10 year period, Shani, the Founder of hOMe Grown foods catered my Yoga Retreats. I was always amazed at how healthy & delicious her meals were! Nobody can surpass Shani for that! This is reflected in her products today. What keeps you motivated on a daily basis?I can’t imagine my life without yoga. So when reading books and articles and watching videos about yoga, physical fitness, breathwork and meditation, I am constantly gleaning for ideas on how to keep my students (and me!) healthy in mind and body, along with a strong connection to spirit. That is what keeps me motivated every day. What words do you live by?Be the best me I can be. Live the best life I can live. Shine for others.Do you have any upcoming offerings we can share with our Collective? This year, I am offering 3 yoga retreats at the amazing Stowel Lake Farm on beautiful Salt Spring island (as long as COVID restrictions allow). Information on these retreats can be found on my WEBSITE.Stay tuned for our next Local Love Series Post! Share if you enjoy! Facebook X LinkedIn Pinterest
