Giving Back: Surfrider Canada

As lovers of the ocean, hOMe Grown Living Foods has partnered with SURFRIDER CANADA in the hopes of restoring our beautiful coastline to its previous beauty. 

Mission: The protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.

What do they do?

Strategic priorities

1. Rise above plastics: reducing the impact plastics have on marine environments and the climate.
2. Materializing a circular economy: turning waste into a resource by keeping materials intelligently in use. 
3. Coastal regeneration: restoring coastlines from plastic pollution and building resilience to disturbance or damage. 

The Surfrider Foundation does an excellent job of raising awareness through their booth at various local events. They run beach cleanups every month and have tons of information on their website, including a list of ocean friendly businesses. 

Surfrider Foundation Canada has three chapters in British Columbia: the Vancouver Chapter, the Vancouver Island Chapter based in Victoria, and the Pacific Rim Chapter based in Tofino and Ucluelet.
