Turmeric is a tropical perennial plant in the same family as ginger, native to India.  Most herbal traditions use turmeric to “invigorate the blood.”

Turmeric is promoted as an anti-inflammatory, being prescribed to relieve inflammation caused by arthritis, muscle sprains, swelling, and pain caused by injuries. It is also useful to treat a wide variety of conditions, including flatulence, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic. ( check with your health practitioner)

As well it is a delicious addition to your daily cooking. Brings a bright colour and earth flavour to roasted veggies, curries and soups .

We use it in our yummy Mung Bean Kitchari recipe and also in our famous Turmeric Pumpkin Hemp MUNCHeez which make a delicious seedy protein rich salad topper or grab’n go snack!
